Broccoli and cheese balls

This is another very easy and delicious side dish. Originally I made this for my daughter but my husband loved it so much I often serve it with wings, tikkas or any main dish or you can have it as an afternoon snack.


1 cup fresh broccoli florets

1/2 cup almond flour 

5 tbsp flaxseed meal

2 eggs

1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 tsp baking powder

1/8 tsp salt or as per taste

1/8 tsp pepper


  1. Grind broccoli florets in small pieces and mix well with cheese almond flour, eggs, salt, pepper and half of the flaxseed meal.
  2. Scoop out the batter with ice cream scoop and make equal sized balls.
  3. Coat the balls in the remaining flaxseed meal and deep fry. If you have an electric deep fryer heat it to 375F and fry for 4 minutes or till they turn golden.
  4. Enjoy as a snack or a side!
